The System Modeling Building Blocks

چکیده
In this chapter, we introduce a highly expressive, self-contained reflective meta-model of object-process methodology (OPM). OPM enables universal system modeling based on the notions of processes that transform objects. Extending the object-oriented approach, which views processes as residents of objects, OPM provides for the existence of stand-alone processes that can represent transformations in complex systems such as businesses, aircrafts or organisms. Through the reflective OPM meta-model, we demonstrate the expressive power of OPM and its applicability as a universal tool for architecting systems that involve structure and dynamics in a highly, intertwined manner.

Effective energy consumption parameters in residential buildings using Building Information Modeling
Building information modeling can help in predicting the energy efficiency in future based on dynamic patterns obtained by visualization of data. The aim of this study was to investigate the effective parameters of energy consumption using BIM technology which can evaluate the buildings energy performance. First, three forms of general states in the building were modeled to evaluate the propose...
متن کاملAssessment of the completeness of Volunteered Geographic Information focusing on building blocks data (Case Study: Tehran metropolis)
Open Street Map (OSM) is currently the largest collection of volunteered geographic data, widely used in many projects as an alternative to or integrated with authoritative data. However, the quality of these data has been one of the obstacles to the widely use of it. In this article, from among the elements related to the quality of volunteered geographic data, we have tried to examine the com...
متن کاملAn operational approach to the design of workflow systems
We construct models as an aid to our thought process. A particular class of models, operational models, can be used for simulation and prototyping. The Opj modeling language is suitable for building operational models of complex software systems. The notion of operational parameterized building block is the key point of the approach, which focuses on two major phases: domain modeling and system...
متن کاملSolving Additively Decomposable Functions by Building Blocks Identification
This paper proposes a way to use Building Blocks to improve solutions in Genetic Algorithm. Hard problems, for instance, Additively Decomposable Functions (ADFs) cannot be effectively solved by a standard algorithm such as Simple Genetic Algorithm. A single point crossover creates disruption of good solutions for such problems. We proposed using Building Blocks Identification and performed appr...
متن کاملThe Building Blocks of Consensus
Consensus is an important building block for building replicated systems, and many consensus protocols have been proposed. In this paper, we investigate the building blocks of consensus protocols and use these building blocks to assemble a skeleton that can be configured to produce, among others, three well-known consensus protocols: Paxos, Chandra-Toueg, and Ben-Or. Although each of these prot...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Thermal Performance of the External Walls of Buildings with Hollow Clay Blocks in Temperate and Humid Climate
The external walls are regarded as an important source for the thermal exchange between the outside and inside of a building. Despite the significance of building walls for energy savings, a large body of research has focused mainly on thermal comfort, environmental impacts, and economic costs of residential buildings. However, few researchers have addressed the thermal performance of common bu...
